			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All hydraulic systems have a fluid and the <a  title="Hydraulic Solenoid" href="http://www.psifla.com/hydraulics-solutions/hydraulic-solenoid/">hydraulic solenoid</a> valve controls the flow of this fluid. These valves are operated through electricity and control the direction of the fluids. It consists of the valve and the solenoid. A solenoid has a moveable iron core which has a coil wound around it. The main function of the solenoid is to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. These are made of stainless steel, brass and polypropelene.</p>
<p>To understand how the system functions, you must know the working of the solenoid. When electricity passes through the coil in the solenoid, it gets charged. A magnetic field is created which gets the plunger to work. This in turn causes the valve to open and close. The specifications to look for in the solenoid valves is the dry and wet solenoids, the lowest current consumption, a very good force–to-size ratio and the twin coil configuration.</p>
<p>The hydraulic solenoid valve is very reliable. These valves can have a single or a double solenoid. If the valve is a DC type, you will have solenoid coil indicator lights along with 12V power rating. You can look for modular or sub-plate mounted types of valves.</p>
<p>These valves have many applications. They are used in circuits which control the tilting angles of the displacement pumps. They can also monitor the working of multiple control valves. You can see the usage of these valves in aerospace manufacturing. Because of its ease of service, these valves can provide great control in applications related to defense, aerospace and marine. In everyday life, you can see these solenoid valves being used in irrigation systems and the washing machines that we have in our homes.</p>
<p>The solenoid valves are very easy to install and are not very costly too. You can find these being used in low-pressure applications. Besides defense and aerospace, you can also find hydraulic solenoid valves in automobiles and construction.</p>

But since this is a mechanical device, it is bound to encounter many problems after a point of time. You can always call in a repair person but knowing simple things can help you to troubleshoot the unit yourself.</p>

<li>The first problem which may arise in the unit is excessive noise. The source of the noise can be traced to the motor, pump or the relief valve. Noise can occur due to cavities or formation of air bubbles in the fluid of the pump. You can replace the filters, clean the inlet points, and change the fluid and so on. You can also try tightening the connections to stop leaks. Alignment of the unit can also remove the noise.</li>

<li>Another major problem with the hydraulic power unit can be excessive heat. This too can occur in the relief valve, motor, pump or the fluid. Try to see if all the connections are fine. Then check the load on the motor. The parts may also be worn out and so should be replaced. If the fluid is too hot, then see if it is clean enough. Then see if the cooling system is normal. Damaged parts should be replaced to lessen the heat.</li>
