HISTORY

Power Systems Inc. of Florida (PSIF) was incorporated in 1983 by the late James Robert (Bob) Smith. Our original facility was located in Lakeland near the center part of the state from where we serviced our customers. Although we enjoyed considerable growth in this location, in 2003 we moved our operations to our current facility in Titusville. Our location within the “space coast” has allowed us to become more involved with a major motion control products user in the state as well as being physically closer to each of the major market areas in the state: Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa / St. Petersburg, and Miami / Ft Lauderdale.

From the beginning, PSIF has partnered with some of the leading manufacturers in the fluid power industry. Manufacturers such as Ross Controls (pneumatic products), Oilgear (hydraulic piston pumps/manifolds/systems), and MTS Temposonics (linear feedback sensors) have each been major contributors to our success. We have continued with many of the same manufacturers we began our business with and have added many others to compliment our offering in the hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control product areas. Those such as Parker Origa (rodless actuators/automation products), Haskel (high pressure products), Burkert (process control valves), and Ryco (hydraulic hose/hose ends) will allow us to grow into the future.

The years 2003 / 2004 were ones that saw us through the move to Titusville and results were a strong growth in sales and profits along with personnel. The following three years (2005-2007) PSIF saw a strong single digit growth with positive customer growth as we met growing challenges. In 2008, we met the expectations of our customers and in return they allowed us to grow better than 15% from the previous year. All indicators point toward continued strong growth in sales and profits and we look forward to working with our valued customers in accomplishing this task.
