Closed Loop Control

Upgrading machines with closed-loop electro-hydraulic control can improve performance of machinery to be better than new machinery and operating at higher cycle rates than thought possible.. Adding closed-loop electro-hydraulic motion controllers with position-pressure/ force-control capabilities can increase productivity, improve quality and decrease maintenance costs.

Our philosophy of building motion control systems starts with designing and manufacturing technically superior systems and providing properly sized components. While other suppliers integrate general purpose components into their motion systems and claim to sell you a “superior” system, Power Systems’ motion components are specifically designed and optimized for the highest performance and lowest cost of ownership available.

Position Control

Servo systems are usually required to control the position of objects in motion. This is mainly accomplished through position control loops with speed controlled electrical servo motors. Commercially available electrical servo drives are usually composed of multiple control loops with an inner current loop for the control of motor torque and limiting of motor current, and an outer speed loop for the regulation of motor speed.

Because of our experience in supplying closed loop control systems for many years, Power Systems Inc is committed to providing the highest quality motion control products and systems that will provide our customers the highest level of performance possible.

Pressure Control

Many PSI customers require the ability to provide accurate force control in their respective systems.  Applications such as a hydraulically powered press (1 ton to 1000 tons+) require precision of force applied depending on the part being generated.  Through pressure feedback devices (pressure transducers), proportional or servo control valves, and motion controllers this precision pressure control is obtainable.

The applications requiring precision are growing in many industries.  The requirement to do more at a higher level of quality means we have to become more precise in how systems operate and are controlled.  It has been proven that controlling actuators more accurately (in both position and pressure control) can extend the life of equipment and machinery.

Precise Positioning

Power Systems Inc (PSIF) precision motion control products provide the critical performance for today’s demanding applications in markets such as medical, OEM, life sciences, primary wood products, metal stamping, entertainmnet, automotive, test and simulation, military/aerospace, mobile OEM equipment, electronics manufacturing, assembly, research and development, and other markets requiring high precision.

Pressure Transducer

Pressure measurement is a key application in many fields of industry. Pressure transducers are an advanced form of the pressure sensor element. A transducer converts pressure into an analog electrical signal. Although there are various types of pressure transducers, one of the most common is the strain-gage base transducer.

Power Systems Inc (PSIF) provides Pressure transducers available with three types of electrical output; millivolt, amplified voltage and 4-20mA. We supply low–cost, trusted solutions. Whether on wheels or in an industrial plant, we are able to leverage a broad and well established portfolio. Our quality pressure sensors are suitable for the most demanding industrial and HVAC/R applications.

Position Transducer

PSIF’ linear position transducers have proven to be an attractive approach for a multitude of applications in many different industries. Our position transducers are used in applications as diverse as crash testing in the automobile industry, bone densitometers in the medical industry, pump jacks in the crude oil extraction industry and irrigation and flood control in the water management industry.   Typical industrial applications included primary wood products (sawmills/plywood plants), metal stamping, and measurement detection of many industrial pieces of equipment.

With a wide variety of electrical outputs, Power Systems Inc (PSIF) position transducers provide an extremely cost effective method for linear position feedback. Our absolute analog rotary position transducers have proven to be an extremely cost effective alternative for measuring rotational positioning.

Magnetostrictive

Magnestostrictive position and level transmitters are highly accurate, precise and offer a variety of configuration options. In level applications, direct insertion service is an option where  the sensor probe with magnetic float(s) is inserted into a tank and as the float rises or falls with the fluid, the transmitter provides level output. Magnetostrictive technology is non-contact and is immune to many harsh environments and materials.  The technology and accuracy have been proven over the many years it has been in use.

The magnetostrictive position transducers Power Systems Inc (PSIF) represents  are ideal in high-pressure, high-temperature applications. These transducers may be utilized in a housing or cylinder or externally mounted to a device for non-invasive level control or linear position indication. The unique design allows increasing level sensing resolution and linear position indication, and in many applications is far superior to what is actually required and substantially better than devices such as lvdt’s or conventional reed switch boards.
